SOK Soul Of Knife
SOK – Soul of Knife: kitchen knives with a soul of their own
The bolder branch of the Dellinger brand combines experience in kitchen knife development, modern materials and distinctive design for anyone who expects more from their knife than just a sharp blade.
SOK was created as a subsidiary brand of Dellinger from the need to develop an independent line of kitchen knives that would be bolder, more design-driven and accessible to a broader range of customers.
After years of experience developing and selling kitchen knives, we at Dellinger saw that some customers were not looking only for a traditional Japanese appearance or classic European shapes. They wanted a knife that would cut reliably, feel comfortable in the hand and at the same time become an unmistakable part of the kitchen.
This very idea gave rise to the SOK – Soul of Knife brand.

What does SOK – Soul of Knife mean?
The name Soul of Knife can be translated as “the soul of a knife”. It expresses the belief that a kitchen knife does not have to be merely an anonymous working tool. It can have its own character, a distinctive appearance and become a natural part of its owner’s style.
The soul of a knife is not hidden only in its design. It is also shaped by the way the blade passes through ingredients, how the knife sits in the hand and how much confidence it provides during everyday cutting. That is why the development of SOK knives combines appearance with practicality, ergonomics and suitable blade geometry.
Distinctive design
Damascus patterns, natural materials, colour combinations and modern silhouettes give each series an unmistakable character.
Practical functionality
Each type of knife is designed with its specific use, comfortable cutting motion and secure grip in mind.
Dellinger experience
Behind the brand is the Dellinger team’s experience with steel selection, blade geometry, ergonomics and final quality control.
A character of its own
Individual SOK series are not simply colour variations. Each brings its own combination of materials, patterns and overall style.
Why was SOK created as a separate brand?
The Dellinger brand has built its identity by combining tradition, craftsmanship, experience and modern manufacturing processes. SOK was given more room to experiment – to explore new material combinations, more pronounced Damascus patterns, unconventional handles and contemporary shapes.
SOK therefore represents the younger and bolder branch of Dellinger. It is intended for customers who want to combine the practical functionality of a kitchen knife with a design that catches their eye at first glance.
Bolder looks, the same demands on functionality
Distinctive design should not replace the function of the knife. With every model, suitable blade geometry, a comfortable grip and practical usability for the task the knife was designed for remain the most important factors.

How to care for SOK kitchen knives
Proper care helps preserve sharpness, the appearance of the blade and the stability of the handle. Use your kitchen knife on a suitable wooden or plastic cutting board and avoid glass, ceramic, stone and other hard surfaces.
- Wash the knife by hand after use and dry it immediately.
- Do not wash it in a dishwasher.
- Do not use the knife on bones, frozen foods or as a pry tool.
- Do not leave a wooden handle immersed in water for extended periods.
- Store the knife in a block, on a magnetic holder or with edge protection.
- Maintain the edge regularly with a suitable sharpener or sharpening stone.
Suitable tools can be found in the knife sharpening and sharpening stones category.
Marek’s tip
When choosing a SOK knife, do not focus only on appearance. First decide which type of knife you will use most when cooking, then choose the series that appeals to you visually. For a first quality knife, I would recommend a Santoku or Chef/Gyuto. A smaller Utility knife and a bread knife then create a practical basic set.

SOK was created for customers who want to combine a quality kitchen knife with bolder design, pronounced Damascus patterns and unconventional material combinations.
What is the difference between Dellinger and SOK?
Dellinger is built on a combination of tradition, craftsmanship and a long-established identity. SOK represents a younger and more experimental branch with greater emphasis on distinctive design.
Are SOK knives suitable for everyday cooking?
Yes. The range includes universal Santoku and Chef/Gyuto knives as well as specialised models for vegetables, bread, smaller ingredients or meat preparation.
Which SOK knife is suitable as a first knife?
For a first universal knife, Santoku or Chef/Gyuto are usually the most suitable. The specific choice depends on your preferred cutting style, hand size and blade length.
Can I wash SOK knives in the dishwasher?
No. We recommend hand washing with a mild detergent and drying immediately. A dishwasher can damage the edge, the blade surface and natural handle materials.
What cutting board should I use with SOK knives?
A wooden or quality plastic cutting board is the most suitable. Glass, ceramic, stone and other hard surfaces can quickly dull or damage the edge.
How are SOK knives sharpened?
For precise restoration of the edge, we recommend a suitable sharpening stone or professional sharpening. The chosen method must correspond to the specific blade type and the condition of the edge.
Are natural handles the same on every knife?
No. Wood has natural grain and colour variation, so individual handles may differ slightly. These differences are exactly what give each piece its own distinctive appearance.
