RISAM blade dressing leather - double-sided
Designed for beginners and professionals. The ergonomic handle allows more comfortable work when putting the blade down. Leather or soft wood (e.g. balsa) is used after sharpening knife blades , scissors, razors, carving tools or joinery tools as a final operation to remove fine burrs and to polish the blade. Fine burrs are created after grinding and need to be removed so that the cut with the sharpened tool is clean, fine and smooth. This is exactly what the dressing on the fine leather helps us to do, when we polish the blade to a high shine. Our double-sided stropping board can also be used by applying a fine abrasive (polishing) paste to the leather on one side, resulting in a highly polished, even mirror-like edge. It is important to wrap around the edge, back to back, never the other way around, as this could damage or cut the wrapping skin.
