Reversible oval leather wrap on ergonomic wooden board. Designed for beginners and professionals. The ergonomic handle allows more comfortable work when putting the blade down. "Wrap around leather" cowhide that is smoothed on one side only. It is used in sharpening and sharpening tools, especially razor blades, knives and other blades. This process is called "stropping" and aims to achieve an extremely sharp and smooth edge, which is difficult to obtain by grinding on synthetic grinding stones alone. The sheath is made of fine cowhide leather, which has an ideal texture for polishing the blade.
One side of the board is covered with green leather, on which is applied an abrasive paste (chromium oxide) that increases the polishing efficiency and helps to remove microscopic irregularities on the blade.
The other side is coated with light brown leather, without the addition of abrasive additives and is used for the final mirror finish.
Skin tightening is done by running the blade of the tool over the skin several times. This helps to remove small burrs and unevenness that can occur when grinding on the grindstone. This ensures a smooth and extremely sharp surface. The process is relatively simple, but requires some skill and experience to avoid damaging the blade or the skin itself.
