Extremely sharp Japanese knife from the Suncraft VG-10 Black Damascusseries. The Santoku knife is a ruthless kitchen warrior that is ready for all your wishes. The Japanese word "santoku" is roughly translated as "three virtues", which is indicative of the versatility of this knife style and the type of cuts it excels at (cutting, slicing and grinding). The blade is usually shorter than a chef's knife with a significantly different geometry. The Santoku knife is often claimed to be a fusion between a chef's knife and a Nakiri, giving you the benefits of both. The higher facet reduces friction, making slicing more precise. The Santoku is the perfect companion when working with meat, fish, vegetables and fruit. You will appreciate the unsurpassed properties of the knife, for example, when slicing onions. The sharpness of the blade ensures minimal liquid leakage and your food will be full of juices and vitamins. The wide blade and comfortable handle give you the best control when cutting and slicing. Knives from the Suncraft VG-10 Black Damascus series have an ultra-sharp cutting core made of Japanese VG-10 steel, which is very well protected against corrosion. Japanese VG-10 steel has a long-lasting sharpness at R62 +/-1 Rockwell hardness. The core of Japanese VG-10 steel is sandwiched between 66 layers of 2 stainless damascene steels for exceptional durability and toughness. The perfectly balanced, precisely tapered Japanese-shaped blade with a shimmering damascene pattern minimises friction when cutting and prevents the material being cut from sticking to the blade. The Damascene pattern is unique and unrepeatable.

The Asian-style octagon handle is made of Pakka-wood and is decorated with a stylish white ring. It is always neatly hand-polished, ergonomically shaped and designed for excellent hand control. The Pakawood material is waterproof and completely odourless. You can be sure that this material will not corrode, oxidise or become softer and more brittle over time. This material requires virtually no maintenance, unlike traditional materials such as wood. The beautiful, dark brown, octagonal wooden handle fits well in your hand, no matter if you are right or left-handed. Pakka wood is a mixture of laminated wood and epoxy resin.
