Baby DI Series
The DI (Daidokoro Ikuji) series is specially designed for children and their first experiences with cooking. The name means “kitchen education” and refers to the idea that cooking helps children develop skills, self-confidence, and a healthy relationship with food.
The knives are just as sharp as adult knives, so children don’t have to exert excessive force, which increases both safety and comfort while cutting.
The focus is on:
- the right size for small hands
- easy handling
- safe and natural use
The series was developed in collaboration with children’s cooking expert Hiroko Sakamoto and, since its launch, has helped children discover the joy of cooking and a sense of accomplishment.
SUNCRAFT DI Children’s Kitchen Knives – A Safe Start to Cooking
The SUNCRAFT DI (Daidokoro Ikuji) series is designed for children who want to discover the world of cooking safely and with joy. These knives were created in collaboration with experts in children’s cooking and are adapted for small hands and beginners.
Unlike ordinary “children’s” knives, they are not unnecessarily dull. On the contrary—they feature a high-quality blade that allows for smooth and natural cutting without the need to exert excessive force. This makes working with the knife safer and helps children master the correct technique more quickly.
The knife’s design is tailored so that the child holds the knife correctly and has full control over it. The shorter handle encourages a proper grip closer to the blade, which increases stability and precision while cutting. The straight blade makes work easier even for children whose wrist motor skills are not yet fully developed.
The DI series promotes not only practical skills but also independence, responsibility, and the joy of cooking. It is ideal as a first step toward building a relationship with food and the kitchen.
