    10Cr15CoMoV steel – the power of Japanese legend in a Chinese design

    10Cr15CoMoV is a high-quality stainless steel from China, which is one of the most popular materials for the production of kitchen knives. Its composition and properties are reminiscent of the well-known Japanese VG-10 steel.

    10Cr15CoMoV steel is a top-quality stainless steel that has gained recognition among knife makers and lovers of high-quality blades. It is often referred to as the Chinese equivalent of the legendary Japanese VG-10, and rightly so – it offers an excellent balance between hardness, durability, and long blade life.

    Thanks to its high content of carbon, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, and cobalt, it achieves a hardness of up to 62 HRC, which ensures exceptional sharpness and excellent corrosion resistance. Knives made from this steel can easily handle everyday cutting and precise kitchen work, while retaining their elegant appearance and shine even after years of use.

    Composition:

    C (carbon) - approx. 1% → hardness, sharpness

    Cr (chromium) - approx. 15% → corrosion resistance

    Co (cobalt) → increases the strength and stability of the blade

    Mo (molybdenum) + V (vanadium) → improved wear resistance and long blade life

    Properties of 10Cr15CoMoV steel:

    Hardness 58-60 HRC

    High corrosion resistance
