Product detailed description
Protect the Edge of Your Favourite Knife
A practical 270 mm blade guard with a sturdy plastic body and soft felt lining. Ideal for gentle storage and safer transport of long, narrow kitchen knives.
Dellinger Protect 270 mm is a simple, effective way to protect long kitchen knife blades when stored in a drawer, knife case or knife roll.
The durable plastic guard limits contact between the blade and surrounding objects. Its soft felt lining helps prevent scratches and accidental damage to the cutting edge. Especially useful for specialist knives designed to slice meat and fish precisely.
Why Use Dellinger Protect?
Blade protection
The felt lining protects the blade surface from direct contact with hard objects.
Gentle storage
A practical solution for storing a long knife in a drawer or knife case.
Easy to use
The lightweight guard slides onto the blade and comes off when needed.
Which Knives Does the Guard Fit?
Designed primarily for long, narrow kitchen knives with blade length up to 265 mm and height up to 30 mm.
Recommended uses
- Sujihiki – long Japanese knives for precise slicing of meat and fish.
- Slice – specialised knives for creating thin, even slices.
- Slicing knives – long, slender blades designed for slicing meat.
- Other long, narrow knives – provided their blade dimensions and shape fit inside the guard.
Important: Although the guard is 270 mm long, the recommended maximum blade length is 265 mm. Maximum blade height is only 30 mm. Check blade thickness and shape too: length alone does not guarantee compatibility.

- Keep the inner felt lining clean and dry during storage.
- The guard reduces the risk of accidental contact with the edge but does not replace careful knife handling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the guard fit every knife with a 265 mm blade?
Not necessarily. Blade height, thickness and shape must also be considered.
Can I use the guard to transport a knife?
Yes, for example in a knife case or knife roll. The knife must always be secured properly.
Does the felt lining protect the cutting edge?
The soft lining reduces direct contact with the hard interior and helps prevent scratches.
Can I put a wet knife inside?
Not recommended. Dry the blade thoroughly before storage to prevent trapped moisture.
