VG-2 is a high-quality Japanese stainless steel produced by the renowned company Takefu Special Steel, which is also behind the well-known VG-10 steel. VG-2 steel was designed as a balanced material for kitchen knives, combining high sharpness, good toughness, corrosion resistance, and easy maintenance. Thanks to these properties, it is the ideal choice for everyday use in both home and professional kitchens.

Compared to harder steels, VG-2 offers greater flexibility and is less prone to chipping. The knife thus handles routine kitchen work better and is more forgiving of rough handling. Nevertheless, it retains excellent edge retention and delivers a clean, precise, and smooth cut.

Thanks to its high chromium content, VG-2 steel is highly resistant to corrosion, stains, and the acids found in food.
